Renault Modus, the premium hatchback from the portfolio of French car maker Renault
Renault Modus, the premium hatchback from the portfolio of French car maker Renault, is all set to enter the India market. Performing in the Indian market will not be anyway easy for Renault as the small hatchback segment here has already become highly competitive and congested with the entry of a series of new cars in last two years. The Renault Modus will be competing with the likes of Maruti Swift, Toyota Etios Liva, Honda Brio, Nissan Micra, Fiat Punto, etc.

The Renault Modus will be showcased at the upcoming high profile F1 racing tournament which is scheduled to be held in Grater Noida, in the last week of this month. The Renault Modus will be third car in the portfolio of French car maker Renault which made its re-entry in the Indian market in the middle of this year by launching premium sedan Fluence in the country. The car was recently spotted testing near Nissan-Renault’s Chennai plant.
The Renault Modus is most likely to be power by a 1.2-litre petrol power plant and a 1.5-litre dCi engine which are doing duties in the premium sedan Fluence. The car is expected to be launched at the Delhi International Auto Expo in January next year. Though the car is available in two variants in the world market including Modus and Grand Modus, only Modus will be taking the Indian route.
