Pune: MercedesTrophy, the acclaimed international golf tournament, returns to India

with a bigger swing this year. The exciting season of this tournament kick started

amidst much glamour today at the Oxford Golf & Country Club in Pune. Now in its 12th

edition in India, this year will witness the most awaited luxury golf experience take

place in eight Invitational and six Regional tournaments across India – Mumbai, Pune,

Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Delhi, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Chennai, Chandigarh & Bangalore.

The MercedesTrophy is an esteemed and dedicated tournament series for amateurs

attracting over 50,000 players who tee-off each year in more than 56 countries. The

World Final of this golfing extravaganza will be held in the Mercedes-Benz homeland

of Stuttgart. Starting way back in 1989, Mercedes-Benz has had a long standing

association with golfing and luxury spectacle.

The MercedesTrophy Invitationals consists of eight invitational rounds teeing off in

Pune. The Invitationals will then move on to major centers across India, including

Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi besides

Pune. Followed this extensive schedule will be six Regional rounds to be held in –

Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi & Chandigarh, finally culminating at the national

finals. The three lucky winners of the national finals will have the grand opportunity to

participate at the prestigious Mercedes Trophy World Finals – an annual congregation

of the most renowned players and Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts organized at Stuttgart,

Germany. One participant from the national final also stands a chance to participate at

none other than British Open after the pro tournament.
