Old Maruti Swift have been stopped due to the new Swift arriving
One of Team Autobites’s Readers, has been to multiple Maruti showrooms in and around the National Capital Region(NCR) only to find that bookings for the Old Swift(existing version) was not being accepted anymore. Also, multiple dealers have reportedly told him that the bookings for the old Swift have been stopped due to the new Swift arriving in August this year.

This bit of information has been corroborated by reliable sources to be true that Maruti indeed will launch the new Swift in August 2011. So, ladies and gentlemen, finally the new Swift will arrive into India in August this year, thus ending the long wait for one of the most anticipated hatchbacks in the Indian car market. Like we reported earlier, the new Maruti Swift comes with a newer design that is more rounded.

Also interior space has gone up on the new Swift. Notably, the petrol engine of the new Swift will be a 90 Bhp K-Series unit with dual variable valve timing, which means that both the intake and exhaust valves will get variable valve timing, making for lower emissions, better mileage and better driveability, all of which have been the outstanding traits of the K-Series range of engines from Maruti Suzuki.
The diesel engine could remain the 75 Bhp, 1.3 Multijet unit that is a frugal yet punchy performer. The price of the new Maruti Swift is expected to be around 30 Thousand rupees higher than the outgoing version, which isn’t too much considering the raft of changes that the new Swift is coming with. With that, let us hope that Maruti has done enough on the production front to ensure that it is able to demand the huge demand that the new Maruti Swift is expected to generate.
